When it comes to stadium experiences, the food is often a huge part of the game-day fun.
Recently, I had the chance to try some of the most expensive stadium food in the U.S., and let me tell you—it was an adventure.
I spent over $1,500 on a premium ticket that granted me access to the exclusive Delta Lounge at U.S. Bank Stadium during a Minnesota Vikings game.
My mission?
To discover if the food inside was worth the hefty price tag.
But first, let’s talk about the pre-game scene: tailgating.
Tailgating is a sport in itself, where fans gather outside the stadium hours before kickoff to grill, drink, and socialize.
It’s also a way to avoid the notoriously high prices inside the stadium.
I wandered through the tailgate party, hoping someone would offer me food, but unfortunately, no luck.
So, I made my way inside the US Bank stadium to see what the premium food experience had to offer.
U.S. Bank Stadium Food: First Impressions
Once inside the stadium, it was time to dig into the pricey food.
My first stop: a barbecue sandwich that cost a whopping $14 and packed over 700 calories.
Yes, they display the calorie count, which is kind of a buzzkill, but the sandwich was delicious.
Toasty bread, juicy meat, and just enough veggies to make me feel a little better about myself.
Cheese Curds and Beer: A Minnesota Classic
Next up was a Minnesota favorite: fried cheese curds.
For $22, I got a beer and a batch of these golden, gooey bites.
Cheese curds are a beloved treat, usually reserved for the Minnesota State Fair, but now available at the stadium.
They were crispy on the outside and melted perfection on the inside.
While pricey, they hit the spot, and I couldn’t help but savor every bite.
Totally worth it!
Tacos and Nachos: Hits and Misses
Moving along, I encountered a taco and nacho stand with offerings that seemed promising.
The tacos were a bit underwhelming—sloppy and lacking flavor, with soft tortillas and bland fillings.
The nachos, on the other hand, were a satisfying mix of cheesy goodness and crunchy chips.
The steak on top wasn’t particularly flavorful, but the combination of salsa and nacho cheese made it a worthwhile snack.
Walking Tacos: A Stadium Favorite
One of the standout foods of the day was the walking taco.
Served in a Doritos bag, this creation combined seasoned beef, cheese, lettuce, and jalapeños, all mixed together for a messy, but delicious treat.
The heat from the beef melted the chips just slightly, creating a soft, cheesy bite that was one of my favorites.
It’s no wonder this snack is a stadium hit—it’s fun, portable, and absolutely tasty.
Inside the Delta Lounge: Free Food and Drinks
After indulging in tailgating and stadium snacks, it was time to check out the Delta Lounge.
The $1,500 ticket gets you access to free food and drinks, so naturally, I had to try everything.
There were classics like brats, hot dogs, and all the toppings you could dream of.
There was also a salad bar (for those who want to pretend they’re being healthy), warm pretzels with cheese, and even chicken and waffles.
The chicken and waffles were a hit.
The syrup brought it all together, and the crispy chicken was the perfect contrast to the soft waffle.
The lounge food wasn’t mind-blowing, but it was convenient, and let’s be real, who can say no to unlimited free snacks?
Wrapping Up the Day
After trying just about everything the stadium had to offer, I made my way to my seat to catch the game.
The atmosphere was electric—the Vikings were winning, people were excited (and very full of hot dogs and beer), and I was ready to call it a day.
The lounge food was good, but honestly, the best part of the day was the walking tacos.
They were creative, messy, and downright tasty.
In the end, I spent a small fortune on the premium ticket and food, but it was worth it for the experience.
Sometimes you just need to treat yourself, and this day was all about over-indulging in the best way possible.
Thanks so much for following along on this food-filled journey!
